Light in the dark gardens - Seamus

What can I write to you?
Surprise your brother
after sneaking into the kitchen
right at dawn.
Catch on the spot
to devour all the chocolate cake.
That doesn't make you a man!
Take a picture
and not hang it on Instagram. . .
Maybe!

Luz en los oscuros jardines - Seamus

Seamus, ¿Qué puedo escribirte?
Sorprender a tu hermano
luego de escabullirse a la cocina
justo al amanecer.
Atraparto en el acto
de devorar todo el pastel de chocolate.
¡Eso no te hace un hombre!
Sacarle una fotografía
y  no colgarla en Instagram . . .
¡Quizás!

Reading Archeology: Next station, Athens by Petros Márkaris

I keep my promise and recommend in this post a book by Petros Márkaris. I loved. This is his work "Next Station, Athens." They listened well. No. It is not a novel. It is a journey through Athens.
Petros Márkaris was born in Istanbul in 1937. He studied Political Science in Vienna and Stuttgart.
He has lived since he was a child in Athens and collaborated with the great Theo Angelópoulus in the film “The look of Ulysses”.
Do not trust. The book "Next Station, Athens" is not a delicious walk through Athens. It doesn't matter what the book cover says. Petros Márkaris tells us the story of each Athenian neighborhood. It has a unique authenticity. Many times it is painful. If you are empathetic to the dispossessed, the workers, the migrants and the victims of the Greek Military Board, lords of Death after the civil war that occurred in Greece after World War II this is a book for you.
I do not recommend people ignorant of Greek reality to read this work. First they must see in the media the Greek events of the last ten years. One has to be clear that politicians are corrupt and in Markaris' words that "they have abandoned the Greeks to their fate."
I believe that Athens would have been the perfect victim if it weren't for the citizens who love her and fight for her from their humble homes.
If you dare to read this book you will understand the history of Latin America and Africa from the 1973 oil crisis and the triumph of neoliberalism, expression of authoritarian regimes or as I usually call it "economic Nazism."
All that is understood in this work. Read "Next Station, Athens" before the West dies of a "Modernity" attack.

No. Non è un romanzo.

Light in the dark gardens - Kathleen

Kathleen, I remember when you unwrapped the presents.
It was at Christmas that your grandfather fell asleep
and your brother, the one in the middle, painted his face.

I remember when impressed you screamed by the sea.
You ran better than your older brother.
I remember you cursing when you had to clean the spruce waste
and you said: Mother, next year we will have a plastic one!

Today I see you with your brothers and your friends.
Together they enter the forest to clean it.
You have learned a lot, my dear girl!

Hoy te veo junto a tus hermanos y tus amigos.
Juntos ingresan al bosque para limpiarlo.
¡Has aprendido mucho, mi querida muchacha!

Light in the dark gardens - Eclipse

After much writing
and very quiet
we photographed the moon eclipse,
we read friend Verne
and we went for a walk
Through deserted streets.
The night caresses you.
The night surrounds you.
If you can't hear yourself
When will you have peace?

Luz en los oscuros jardines - Eclipse

Después de mucho escribir
y de mucho callar
fotografiamos el eclipse de luna,
leímos al amigo Verne
y salimos a caminar
por desiertas calles.
La noche te acaricia.
La noche te rodea.
Si no puedes escucharte a ti mismo
¿Cuándo tendrás paz?

Luz en los oscuros jardines

Luz en los oscuros jardines
Día de sol
lleno de magia. . .

El azul silencio
se interrumpe
con el llanto de los niños.

Recuerdos de trenes
se pierden en la distancia. . .

Fue hace tanto tiempo.
¿Fue hace tanto tiempo?

Anonymous Heroes of the Fatherland

The road to freedom is arduous. Our people know it well. Let's briefly review their battles.
On May 25, 1810, the May Revolution allowed the organization of the First National Government.
In 1813 the Constituent Assembly decided to create the Directory, a unipersonal power to face the problems that did not overwhelm.
In 1813 the Freedom of Bellies and the prohibition of torture were declared. One of the toughest battles to obtain Freedom had been won.
In 1815 things were not going well in Our America. In Mexico they shot the revolutionary José María Morelos. In Venezuela Bolívar and his patriots were defeated by the royalist forces.
Before the loss of Alto Peru in 1815 the defense of the North was in the hands of General Miguel Martin de Güemes, who gave us oxygen until his death.
San Martín resigned to the headquarters of the Army of the North. He resigned strategically. San Martin organized the new government of Cuyo and developed the Emancipatory Plan.
It was a terrible blow that Potosi will remain in the hands of the royalists. On the one hand, Our brothers were the work of a slave hand in the mines and on the other, Spain filled its silver coffers to generate weapons with which to destroy us.
San Martin, urged by the duty, wrote to the deputy Tomás Godoy Cruz:. . . "Until when do we expect to declare our independence? Does not it seem a ridiculous thing to coin money, to have a national flag and a national coward, and finally to make war on the sovereign whom we believe we depend on the day? " . .
San Martín analyzes the state of affairs with these words:. . . "The enemies treat us as insurgents, because we declare ourselves vassals. Be sure that no one will accompany us in such a situation. " . .
Then, San Martin insistently manages to be understood by the deputies from Mendoza. The General writes:. . . "Cheer up! that for the Men of Courage the companies have been made ". . .
San Martín, Belgrano and Pueyrredón were the great moral supporters of the Congress of Tucumán knew that a Great Battle for Freedom had been won with the Declaration of Independence of 1816.
When the Constitution was sanctioned in 1853, we won again because freedom is won at all times with everyday actions.
Today in 2019 we have many battles to win. The running of Time overwhelms us. In the name of Progress they separate us. Persevering in the study and in the work we make our country bigger every day. Every day is the perfect opportunity to accept Our Differences and Our Errors. We have fought a lot, together we will come to victory. In the silence, in the daily struggle each one of us is an Anonymous Hero of the Homeland. Do not give up We are Argentines.

Somos Argentinos.
