Señor, quiero ofrecer mi pecho al que sacude el dolor que lleva dentro, y despedaza.

Quiero tener mis brazos donde arrulle el llanto en que se ahoga su esperanza.

Reading Archeology: We Survive - Sara Gochberg de Silberstein

In her book We Survive, Sara Gocheberg of Silberstein tells the story of her family.

Sara survived the extermination of the Jewish people. Her husband Sasha (Zil) was an anti-Nazi guerrilla in the woods.

Sara denounces the terrible crimes of the Nazis and the courage of the people who faced them. A book that helps us understand that time is relative and that there is no forgiveness for murderers.

Survived was published by Dunken Publishing. The copy I read belongs to the third edition held in Buenos Aires in 2010. It includes photographs, letters, maps and a very important glossary.

I recommend reading the 272 pages of Survived with the children and nephews. It is the best way to cultivate Mercy in our descendants. . .

Arqueología Lectora: Sobrevivimos de Sara Gochberg de Silberstein

En su libro Sobrevivimos, Sara Gocheberg de Silberstein cuenta la historia de su familia.

Sara sobrevivió al exterminio del pueblo judío. Su esposo Sasha (Zil) fue un guerrillero antinazi en los bosques.

Sara denuncia los terribles crímenes de los nazis y la valentía de las personas que los enfrentaron. Un libro que nos ayuda a comprender que el tiempo es relativo y que no hay perdón para los asesinos.

Sobrevivimos fue publicado por la Editorial Dunken. El ejemplar que yo leí pertenece a la tercera edición realizada en Buenos Aires en 2010. Incluye fotografías, cartas, mapas y un glosario muy importante.

Recomiendo leer las 272 páginas de Sobrevivimos junto a los hijos y sobrinos. Es la mejor manera de cultivar la Misericordia en nuestros descendientes .  .  .

Kinglassie tenía un tesoro y una dama escocesa sabia su ubicación. . . Sir Gavin Faulkener encuentra a la dama en una jaula de hierro.

Lady Christian MacGillean ha jurado lealtad al rey rival y la mujer no sabe rendirse ni traicionar sus ideas.

Faulkener se estremece al ver su entereza cuando ella , casi muerta, por orden del rey Eduardo confunde a Faulkener con San Miguel…alucinante!!!

El misticismo, el romance y la historia se conjugan en esta novela. Si te gusta la Edad Media en estas vacaciones disfruta el libro escrito en 1995 por Susan King con el titulo en inglés The Angel Knight.

Mysticism, romance and history are combined in this novel.

Reading Archeology and the War Tales of Guy de Monpassant

Guy de Monpassant was a French storyteller and novelist. He was born in Normandy (1850) and was a disciple of Flaubert and Zola.

The book I read this week is War Tales and was published at the time by Diaro Page 12. There are 94 pages of very interesting stories.

Monpassant unveiled his first story “Bola de Sebo” in the Les Soirées de Médan collection published by Zola. He shared with Flaubert pessimism and disgust for what he called "the philistism of bourgeois life."

Between 1880 and 1890 Monpassant wrote six novels being the most recognizable Una Vida and Pierre and Jean. He died insane in 1893.

El libro que leí esta semana es Cuentos de Guerra y fue publicado en su momento por el Diario Página 12. Son 94 páginas de muy interesantes cuentos.

The meaning of Christmas decorations - Part Two

I like Christmas from my increasingly mature approach to Jesus. Christmas It is not a commercial party even if it is sold by mass media. Christmas is the birth of the Redeemer and that is the most important thing.

The bells

Christmas bells are very dear. Formerly, they served to scare away evil spirits. Today you can enjoy your replica in churches and cathedrals. The bells remind Christians of the moment of worship.

Currently they are made with different materials and in many colors they are used at Christmas to decorate tables, houses and Christmas trees. In some countries they are usually placed in windows.

Pineapples

In some houses you usually use natural pineapples, in others artificial pineapples are placed. It is common to see them with gold or silver glitter, they are ideal to design the centerpieces and decorate the Christmas trees.

Pineapples are a sign of hope in the future and represent immortality. Artificial fists often pass from parents to children and it is touching to see grandchildren share them.

The Angels

Angels usually decorate Christian houses at Christmas. It is usual to put little angels on the Christmas tree. They allow us to remember that it was the Árcangel Gabriel, who announced to Mary the birth of Christ. Yes. Mary had been chosen by the Lord to give birth to her son. . . How nice!!

El significado de los adornos navideños – Segunda parte

Navidad me gusta desde mi acercamiento cada vez más maduro a Jesús.  

Navidad No es una fiesta comercial aunque así la vendan los medios de comunicación masiva. Navidad es el nacimiento del Redentor y eso es lo más importante.

Las campanas

Las campanas en Navidad son muy queridas. Antiguamente, servían para ahuyentar a los malos espíritus. 

Hoy puede disfrutarse su replicar en iglesias y catedrales . Las campanas recuerdan a los cristianos el momento de culto.

Actualmente se hacen con diferentes materiales y en multitud de colores se usan en Navidad para decorar mesas, casas y árboles de navidad. En algunos países suelen colocarse en las ventanas.

Las piñas

En  algunas casa sueles usarse las piñas naturales, en otras se colocan piñas artificiales. Es común verlas con purpurina de color de oro o plata, son ideales para diseñar los centros de mesa y adornar los arbolitos navideños.

Las piñas son signo de esperanza en el futuro y representan la inmortalidad. Las piñas artificiales suelen pasar de padres a hijos y es conmovedor ver a los nietos compartirlas.

Los ángeles

Los ángeles suelen decorar las casas cristianas en Navidad. Es usual poner angelitos en el árbol de Navidad.  Permiten recordar que fue el Arcángel Gabriel, quién anuncio a María el nacimiento de Cristo.  Si,  María había sido elegida por el Señor para que alumbrara a su hijo. . . Qué bonito!!

Christmas wreaths

Christmas wreaths welcome Christian homes. These crowns are placed on the doors of the houses. They can be made with dry branches, natural plants, colored fabrics, etc.

Christmas wreaths were originally made with plants, ties or fruits. They are a sign of the dignity of the people who live in the place and a symbol of the belief in eternal life.

The star of the East and the Magi

This star is usually placed on top of Christmas trees. It is a memory of the star of the East. That star announced the arrival of the Messiah.

The Magi observed the star and went in search of the Messiah, guided by it. It was in this way that the Magi arrived at the Portal of Bethlehem.

I want to clarify that the Magi are not popular in all countries for a translation issue. Este último tiempo me han preguntado ¿Cuál es el significado de los adornos navideños? Es una pregunta muy agradable y quiero responderla cuanto antes. Pero, no se confundan. Yo no era muy navideña... 

Navidad me gusta desde mi acercamiento cada vez más maduro a Jesús. 

Navidad No es una simple fiesta comercial más aunque así la vendan los medios de comunicación masiva. 
Navidad es el nacimiento del Redentor y eso es lo más importante.

Las coronas de Navidad

Las coronas de Navidad dan la Bienvenida a los hogares cristianos. Estas coronas se colocan en las puertas de las casas. Pueden realizarse con ramas secas, plantas naturales, telas de colores, etc.

Las coronas de navidad originalmente se hacían con plantas, lazos o frutas. Son signo de la dignidad de las personas que viven en el lugar y símbolo de la creencia en la vida eterna.

La estrella de Oriente y los Reyes Magos

Esta estrella suele colocarse en la cima de los árboles de navidad. Es un recuerdo de la estrella de Oriente. Esa estrella anunció la llegada del Mesías.

Los Reyes Magos observaron la estrella y fueron en busqueda del Mesías, guiados por ella. Fue de esta forma que los Reyes Magos llegaron al Portal de Belén.

Quiero aclarar que los Reyes Magos no son populares en todos los países por un tema de traducción. Su historia se compartió oralmente desde los orígenes del Cristianismo y cuando se escribió la palabra magos, esta palabra hacia referencia a la sabiduría de estos personajes. Los Reyes Magos eran hombres sabios y estudiosos de las Sagradas Escrituras y sus Profetas.

Las esferas de Navidad

Las esferas fueron creadas por los sopladores de vidrio de Bohemia en el siglo XVIII.

Las bolas de vidrios de colores se hicieron para celebrar el nacimiento de Cristo. Desde entonces se fabrican, se compran, se venden y se regalan para adornar el árbol de Navidad.

En muchos países de raíces cristianas católicas existe la tradición de regalar un adorno de Navidad cada 8 de diciembre en recuerdo de la Virgen María. Ese día es que debe armarse el árbol de Navidad.

Arqueología lectora: Giordano Bruno de Michael White

En este post quiero recomendar una obra de Michael White. El libro en cuestión es Giordano Bruno, el hereje impenitente.

¿Quién fue Giordano Bruno? Bueno, primeramente nació con el nombre de Filippo Bruno en Nápoles, Italia. Su fecha de nacimiento es 9 de febrero de 1548. Con el nombre de Giordano Bruno se desempeño como astrónomo, filósofo, teólogo, matématico y poeta.

Todo bien. Sin embargo, un día la Inquisición se molesto. Giordano Bruno una de las mentes más brillantes de la humanidad fue asesinado en la hoguera el 17 de febrero de 1600 en la ciudad de Roma.

El libro escrito por Michael White Fue publicado por Javier Vergara Editores y el ejemplar tiene 22 páginas. Es una belleza y como Giordano Bruno un canto a la Inteligencia y a la Libertad.

In this post I want to recommend a work by Michael White. The book in question is Giordano Bruno, the impenitent heretic.

Who was Giordano Bruno? Well, he was first born under the name of Philip Bruno in Naples, Italy. His date of birth is February 9, 1548. With the name of Giordano Bruno he worked as an astronomer, philosopher, theologian, mathematician and poet.

All good. However, one day the Inquisition got annoying. Giordano Bruno one of the brightest minds of mankind was killed at the stake on February 17, 1600 in the city of Rome.

The book written by Michael White was published by Javier Vergara Editores and the copy has 22 pages. It is a beauty and like Giordano Bruno a song to Intelligence and Freedom.

Reading archeology and reading in people who do not read

Reading archeology is the section in which I recommend books. Many books are old. Many books are modern. This week's book is timeless although its edition date in 2004.

The recommended book is “Stories to give away. . . to people who don't read. " This work by Enrique Mariscal, graduated in Philosophy, Psychology and Educational Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires.

His book has stories. It is sobering and enriching. First, to read oneself and then to give to others. Published by Aguilar in December 2004. Feel free to read it. . .

El libro recomendado es “Cuentos para regalar  . . . a personas que no leen”.  Esta obra de Enrique Mariscal, graduado en Filosofía, Psicología y Ciencias de la  Educación por la Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Su libro tiene relatos. Es aleccionador y enriquecedor. Primero, para leer uno mismo y luego, para regalarle a los demás.  Publicada por Aguilar en diciembre de 2004. No dude en leerlo . . .

Syria, Turkey and Armenian Genocide

My name is Athena in arms, because education is my shield and the word is my weapon. The word is Life that can save your Life. Silence is death. For three days I am arguing with a lot of Turkish militarists who accuse Israel of provoking war in Syria.

A friend told me: "You're very crazy ... go down to the ground and stop bothering yourself." On land I was stranded for about a year. As Argentina I do not want my words to be confused. This election year, my country faces on two sides. I do not want to favor any of them. I have been studying and working to leave a testimony of this time. I want to be a balanced, responsible observer and builder of the future. Respect for the Law and Human Rights is everything to me. I was stranded writing neutral articles, cultivating the Concord in my Argentina and I do not regret that decision.

Now, I'm going to take flight like the owl of Athena. I will write about Israel, about Turkey and about Syria. That is my duty. Militarism will end all that Humanity loves if we continue to allow us to rewrite the past. I told my Turkish friends, I hope they remain my friends, for the fourth time that the Armenian Genocide is real. . .

 The Armenian genocide is real and I will not let them silence it and do what they want in Syria. I already cried for Syria in 2012 and I can't forget that. Everyone knows about war crimes. Some groups in Turkey accuse Israel and the Christian nations. That is a feverish tale.

The fight between Saudi Arabia and Iran for control of the Islamic world has nothing to do with Israel. In Syria, the Israelites have nothing to do with it. The terrible thing is that the third world war is just around the corner. Militarism will destroy everything if we allow it.

A friend, whom I considered my brother, told me: "You are still a Zionist dog." Come on, I'm Catholic and Isis wouldn't let me live for five minutes because I won't give up on Christ. And my interpretation of Christ makes me love Life and reject all kinds of violence.

I pray for Peace and as for Israel, I am going to defend Israel from anti-Semitism. As always, brother, I will defend Israel. The first Love is sacred and yes, maybe you're right. If asking that there is Peace throughout the world and that we share the planet is Zionism, I am still a Zionist dog.

Someone has to write the books. I get two words together and listen to everyone and try to make them listen to each other. I was on the ground for a year, they will soon read me on blogs. Siria, Turquía y el Genocidio Armenio

Mi nombre es Atenea en armas, porque la educación es mi escudo y la palabra es mi arma. La palabra es Vida que puede salvar tu Vida. El silencio es la muerte. Desde hace tres días estoy discutiendo con un montón de militaristas turcos que acusan a Israel de provocar la guerra en Siria.

Una amiga me dijo: “Estas muy loca...baja a tierra y déjate de joder”. En tierra estuve varada más o menos un año. Como Argentina no quiero que mis palabras se confundan. Este año electoral, mi país se enfrenta en dos bandos. Yo no quiero favorecer a ninguno de ellos. He estado estudiando y trabajando para dejar un testimonio de este tiempo. Quiero ser un observador equilibrado, responsable y constructor del futuro. El respeto a la Ley y a los Derechos Humanos lo es todo para mi. Estuve varada escribiendo artículos neutrales, cultivando la Concordia en mi Argentina y no me arrepiento de esa decisión.

Ahora, voy a tomar vuelo como la lechuza de Atenea. Voy a escribir sobre Israel, sobre Turquía y sobre Siria. Ese es mi deber. El militarismo acabará con todo lo que la Humanidad ama si seguimos permitiendo que nos reescriban el pasado. Les dije a mis amigos turcos, espero que sigan siendo mis amigos, por cuarta vez que el Genocidio Armenio es real. . .

 El genocidio armenio es real y no voy a dejar que lo silencien y hagan lo que quieran en Siria. Yo ya lloraba por Siria en 2012 y eso no lo puedo olvidar. Todos saben de los crímenes de guerra. Algunos grupos en Turquía acusan a Israel y a las naciones cristianas. Eso es un cuento afiebrado.

La lucha entre Arabia Saudita e Irán por el control del mundo islámico no tiene nada que ver con Israel. En Siria no tienen nada que ver los israelitas. Lo terrible es que la tercera guerra mundial está a la vuelta de la esquina. El militarismo lo va a destruir todo si se lo permitimos.

Un amigo, a quien consideré mi hermano, me dijo: “seguís siendo una perra sionista”. Vamos, soy católica e isis no me dejaría vivir ni cinco minutos porque no renunciaré a Cristo. Y mi interpretación de Cristo me hace amar la Vida y rechazar todo tipo de violencia.

Rezo por la Paz  y en cuanto a Israel, yo voy a defender a Israel del antisemitismo. Como siempre hermano, yo defenderé a Israel. El primer Amor es sagrado y si, tal vez tengas razón. Si pedir que exista la Paz en todo el mundo y que compartamos el planeta es sionismo, yo sigo siendo una perra sionista

Alguien tiene que escribir los libros. Yo se juntar dos palabras y se escuchar a todos y trato de hacer que se escuchen unos a otros. En tierra estuve un año, pronto me leerán en los blogs. Además, los historiadores turcos son tan machistas que me merecen, aunque sea un poquito de realidad en la voz de una mujer.  Se merecen más. . .pero por lo menos eso, como diría Julio Cortazar.

Vamos a vivir, pensar, hablar y rezar juntos y a buscar juntos las respuestas que nos lleven a la Paz.

Al Kindi, Arab philosopher of the Middle Ages

Al Kindi, the first famous Muslim philosopher, lived during the ninth century, in Basra and in Baghdad. His life coincided with the cultural heyday of the city of a Thousand and One Nights in which he worked on the translations entrusted to him by the Caliphs.

He was an encyclopedist of all the knowledge of Greek such as arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, optics, music, medicine, logic and psychology. What my students call; "A Cappo, man." 

Al Kindi wrote the commentary to the first eight chapters of Ptolemy's Almagest: Book on the major art in which he exposes the achievements of Greek scientists in their search for truth.

In addition, Al Kindi wrote about the books of Aristotle in which he incorporates distant thoughts of Islam because he considered philosophy as a knowledge consistent with the revealed truth, thus continuing the Neoplatonic tradition.

He considered reason as the source of knowledge that settled in the soul and in reasoning. Al Kindi was the first Muslim philosopher to try to relate philosophy and science.

In his work on the first philosophy he maintained that; "The knowledge of the true nature of things is included the knowledge of divinity, the knowledge of the uniqueness of God and the knowledge of virtue And, in addition, a complete knowledge of all that is useful."

It happens that, Al Kindi believed that the understanding is always in action being as an intelligence or spiritual substance distinct from the soul, superior to it to become "intelligence in the act."

The philosopher sustained the "existence of two worlds." One of them was the intelligible world and the other the sensitive. One would be a mere shadow and reflection of the other. Al Kindi was born to heaven in 873.
